LIFTEX 2019 Show Roundup | Liftex Best Bits

Liftex 2019 hit the UK with a bang in 2019, with hundreds of people pouring through the doors of the ExCel Centre, London for the 2 day show.

LIFTEX 2019 BEST BITS: EDITORS NOTE

Liftex 2019 hit the UK on 15th & 16th May 2019, with the ExCel London Centre buzzing. Run by LEIA (Lift and Escalator Industry Association), the show is only on in the UK every 3 years.

Although the hall was quite small, the exhibitors didn’t let this stop them – with everything from working lifts to full engines and parts on display.

There was something for everyone at the show too – from caricaturists to handy bartenders, darts competitions to fantastic food!

LIFTEX 2019 BEST BITS: GARTEC DARTS CHALLENGE

The Gartec Lifts darts challenge went down a storm, with people trying their hand to see what they could score. Whatever the score was after 6 darts, the competitor won the same amount off the cost of their next lift order.

The highest score sat with Steve Marriner of Innovate Lifts (with a score of 162) up until the last few hours, where he was knocked off the top spot by Carl Healy of Central Services South and Nick Beetson of Sheridans!

LIFTEX 2019 BEST BITS: OUR FAVOURITE STANDS

Some exhibitors went all out at the show, with entertainment and activities to draw the crowds. Our favourites from around the show included:

  • Horsler Lift Services went all out with a trendy London bar setup, with a fantastic bar tender throwing shapes and bottles throughout the 2 days – perfect for weary visitors!
  • The Alimak stand had a fascinating model of a vertical wall climber lift for oil rigs and harsh environments
  • Electrotech employed a brilliant caricaturist for their stand, with some lucky visitors walking off with a piece of art!
  • Robert Gerrard Insurance had a magician wowing people on their stand, with a range of tricks to entertain and amaze.
  • Engines and lift systems on display at the Montanari Group stand, showcasing the newest traction systems
  • Finally, the Dewhurst stand at the show was flashing and blinking away with buttons and interesting things – hard to rip your eyes away from it all!

And of course the Gartec stand had the darts competition running across the show!
