Gartec and Knowsley Delivers Platform Lift to the Port of Liverpool Building

Providing an accessibility solution to the Port of Liverpool Building with Knowsley Lift Services

One of our latest Trade projects working along side Knowsley Lifts shows the Gartec 3000 Lift installed at the Grade II* listed Port of Liverpool Building, providing accessibility into the Dock office. The lift installation took under 1 week, managed by Knowsley Senior Technical Project Manager Dave Tracy and installed by our own Gartec installation team. Knowsley are always a pleasure to work with and great to be a part of making the project come to life and meeting objectives set out by the client.

Stuart Cooper, our UK Trade Account Manager described why the Gartec 3000 was a good fit for the project, ‘This site came with all of the issues you would expect with a listed building such as very limited builders work and design befitting the location.

Aesthetically, our Gartec 3000 step lift was the model in our portfolio best qualified to be used at this prestigious location. Glazed where possible and with stainless steel fixtures and fittings, not only would it look great but its external grade finishes would be able to withstand the coastal air coming in from the nearby River Mersey.

Once the design was finalised and agreed, the project was handed over to our operations team for installation. Under the site stewardship of Gartec’s vastly experienced Project Surveyor Andy Jones, Knowsley Lifts were able to carry our all of the required enabling works to make our installation run perfectly.
I take great pride in being given the responsibility of supplying this solution to our valued partners Knowsley Lifts for one of their largest clients.’

Carey Oakes, the Operations Director at Knowsley Lifts commented,  ‘We were asked by one of our biggest clients to provide a solution that would provide disabled access to the building.

One of the challenges was to ensure the required dimensions for DDA compliance were met, whilst making sure the lift did not encroach onto the public pavements.
Various proposals were discussed and by thinking outside the box, both Knowsley Lifts and Gartec’s Stuart Cooper designed a solution that could achieve both objectives. As always with Gartec, from initial enquiry to handover, and working under our Senior Technical Project Manager, Dave Tracy, the project was completed on time, on budget and to the delight of the both the lift consultant, and the client.’

Thanks to everyone including Knowsley Lifts involved, making it a success!
